JARRETT A. GREEN

Jarrett_GreenJarrett A. Green is the founder of the Nexus Law Group. Jarrett has a broad litigation practice, representing clients in both federal and state courts, with a particular emphasis on complex business and commercial disputes.

Jarrett has represented a wide variety of clients, from small business owners to directors and executive officers of the largest corporations in the world – and everyone in between. Jarrett has litigated a full array of matters involving breach of business contracts, disputes over purchase and sale agreements, shareholder securities class actions, broker malfeasance cases, breach of fiduciary duty suits, corporate merger and acquisition disputes, fraud and misrepresentation actions, commercial real estate disagreements, securitization and foreclosure actions, trademark and copyright suits, franchise and partnership disputes, and a full spectrum of other issues and torts that arise in the course of business. Jarrett also has substantial experience in representing Boards of Directors and officers in connection with governmental investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Justice, as well as internal investigations initiated by the company itself, into potentially illegal conduct occurring within the company.

Jarrett’s clients have included major pharmaceutical companies, institutional banks and lenders, international software and technology companies, law firms, retail and distribution companies, casinos, franchisors and a whole host of other industry-specific companies, as well as the directors, CEOs, CFOs and other officers of these companies. He has also represented small business owners in the technology, Internet, retail, distribution, service, restaurant and medical industries.

After graduating from UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), Jarrett served as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the Central District of California for the Honorable William J. Rea in Los Angeles. During his clerkship, Jarrett obtained invaluable insight into the way our judicial system functions behind closed doors, the manner in which decisions are actually made by judges, and how lawyers can most effectively persuade judges and juries to agree with their client’s position. This “inside information” about the inner workings of our legal system provide Jarrett with critical tools that he now uses to advance his clients’ interests.

After completing his clerkship, Jarrett joined the business litigation department of the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Skadden Arps has been ranked the “Best Corporate Law Firm” in the United States by Corporate Board Member magazine each of the last ten years and has been named “United States Law Firm of the Year” by Who’s Who Legal magazine every year since the award’s inception.
In his five years at Skadden Arps, Jarrett worked on many of the most complicated and high-profile business, corporate governance, and securities litigation matters in the country. As an integral part of numerous litigation teams, Jarrett was instrumental in obtaining dismissals of countless class action complaints seeking hundreds of millions to billions of dollars in damages, and in securing settlements on behalf of clients for pennies on the dollar. He also obtained numerous successful outcomes for business owners and entrepreneurs who were involved in legal disputes with potentially life-altering consequences.

Jarrett ultimately left Skadden Arps to open his own firm because he wanted to be able to offer clients the same sophisticated and high-level litigation services, but with a more flexible business model, a more personal attorney-client relationship dynamic, and significantly reduced fees.

Jarrett earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Santa Clara University and his J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). While at Berkeley Law, Jarrett obtained the positions of research assistant and advisor to Professor Paul Mishkin and Professor Pamela Samuelson, two of UC Berkeley’s most prominent and influential professors of law.

Jarrett is a member of the State Bar of California and is also licensed to practice in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and all federal district courts in California. He has been admitted pro hac vice in numerous states outside of California and has handled cases across the country.
